We have amazing volunteers and we are always looking for more to join our crew of Helping Hands. Some of their recent accomplishments include building a working wooden cable tool derrick and refinishing the Multi-Use Hall. If you visit our site you are sure to meet one or two of these friendly individuals who will share their knowledge and enthusiasm with you. See the volunteer profile below to read a feature on our Cable Tool Rig crew.
If you are interested in sharing your time and skills please contact 1-866-987-4323 for further information. Volunteers of all ages are welcome and training is provided. Different projects needing your help include:
Grounds Care - Landscaping and maintenance work throughout our 13 acre site. May involve lawn cutting, painting, general maintenance of equipment and improvement of exhibits.
Newsletter Mail-out - Stuffing envelopes, folding newsletters and pasting labels for over 700 members is a big job... but lost of fun with tea and coffee! This job may even be done off-site. Catwalk newsletters go out quarterly.
Special Events - Do you have a shiny-happy-smile? Would you like to help us greet visitors, cut strawberries for the Strawberry Tea, grill up some burgers or run the rigs on special event days?
Education Assistants - Assist with school programs in French or English, indoors or out. Assist with promotion of the Discovery Centre at Teacher's Conventions and Community Events Nights.
Bingo - Help the Historical Society to earn funds through Bingos and Casinos - you must be a member to volunteer for this team.
Gift Shop & VIC - Our gift shop and visitor information centre is very busy from early spring to late summer. If you would like to assist in bringing order to the displays, labeling new products, manning the front desk and visitor sales at anytime throughout the year, we would greatly appreciate an hour or two of your time.
